A late-spring opening is expected for Go Grocer. Plans to pop out to a national level are being tossed around by co-owners, brothers Paul and Greg Stellatos.

Add another store to the tally for Go Grocer. The newest one, at 2255 N. Milwaukee Ave., will be the 16th in the area. The model is a store that offers both traditional in-store purchases and delivery from their app.

What Now Chicago received word of Go Grocer’s liquor license filing, which company co-owner Paul Stellatos, in a recent telephone interview, confirmed this, adding: “We will sell craft beer, wines, and all your packaged staples.”

When asked about exactly when to expect, as Go Grocer’s website states, their “delivery within minutes” to begin at their new spot, Stellato had no exact date, but rather added: “We’re looking at the end of April, or beginning of May.”

Mr. Stellatos told What Now Chicago that, based on the successes of his model in the Chicago market, he’s “looking at nationwide expansion.” One thing that seems prevalent: they’re willing to listen customers in a way perhaps competitors don’t. In the Contact Us portion of their website, Go Grocer has a sub-section there titled Get In Touch. They ask for your reflections on your recent experience with them, your query letter if you’d like to pitch a product for inclusion among Go Grocer’s other 4,000 in-store items, but they also ask for you to drop them a line for future location suggestions. That last one there is not an in-house discussion item often put out there, by any company, for public opinion. The willingness to ask just maybe pays off handsomely someday. (Shrugs.) You never know.

Co-owners Paul and Greg Stellatos, of course, know that they are not the only players in the rapid delivery grocery market. Surely, it will be interesting to see how further innovative the Stellatos get in the crucial upcoming years in hopes of making theirs the main go-to, gotta-get-it-fast grocery delivery option.
