McKinney will soon be getting a second helping of chicken worth crossing the road for. Raising Cane’s, an absolute phenomenon in the fast-casual poultry market, will be opening soon in the region.

The current undisputed champion of the chicken scene will be opening at the intersection of Highway 380 and Prestwick Hollow Road. According to paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the newly erected restaurant will provide Raising Cane’s with 2,691 square feet to greet and serve customers.

An official opening date is not currently available, however the restaurant is slated to open at some point in 2025.

Raising Cane’s began serving its beloved chicken in Baton Rouge in 1996. Anchored by a simple but delicious menu, the chain became a global sensation with more than 800 worldwide storefronts. McKinney currently has one of those more than 800 open and in operation at 1902 N Central Expressway N.

Raising Cane’s fans-or Caniacs, as they call themselves-can choose from either made-to-order chicken tenders or a chicken sandwich. Sides include crinkle fries, coleslaw, and Texas toast.
