Kabod Coffee, an organic Ethiopian coffee importer and roaster, is opening its second location inside the Denver Airport.
Currently, Kabod Coffee is located at 9165 Northfield Boulevard. Owner Muluye Hailemariam said this second location is not replacing the Northfield Boulevard one, they are just expanding to serve more customers.
Kabod Coffee focuses on purchasing only fair-trade coffee, directly supporting farmers and sustainable farming practices. Kabod Coffee’s beans are grown on small farms in Ethiopia, known as the birthplace of coffee. In Ethiopia, there are many different coffee growing regions, each offering a unique flavor profile to the beans produced. The beans are then packaged in hermetic GrainPro bags which preserve the coffee’s aroma and quality as it’s shipped to Denver.
In house, the coffee is roasted in small batches, only 15 pounds at a time, to uphold Ethiopian traditions of small batch roasting to preserve the coffee’s taste.
