Flatirons Golf Course will have a restaurant onsite by 2024, according to the City of Boulder. Construction permits for a full-service dining facility at the popular attraction — located at 5706 Arapahoe Ave. — recently passed approval.
The addition of a restaurant is part of a large-scale construction and renovation project taking place at the site. It was damaged by 2013 floods that hit the town especially hard.
Just Hit It Grill snack shack will be deconstructed and the temporary restrooms will be removed in order to build a new center with indoor/outdoor dining, event space, and permanent bathrooms. Renovations will be done to the Pro Shop and parking lot, where EV charging stations will be added.
According to records, money for the project comes largely from Permanent Parks and Recreation Funds, which are from property taxes. The city stated that the expectation is “construction of the new building will take 9-12 months.”
The addition of a restaurant to the golf course is possible thanks to laws put in effect by Boulder City Council. Land use changes have opened up the door for eateries on regional park grounds. In addition to the one coming to Flatirons Golf Course, Driftwind opened at Boulder Reservoir in 2021.
