The town of Fort Morgan has a reason to cheers and celebrate: a brewpub is coming — the first for the city. A liquor license was granted to Kukaro Brewing, which will be located at 120 W. Railroad Ave., last week.

Colorado Beer Geek announced the news in a Facebook post and said the projected opening is set for April of next year. The business had a meeting with the city on August 15, where the license was granted.

Leasing data shows that the pub will take up 1,433 square feet of space, seat 12 at the bar, and have additional table and lounge seating, and a patio area.

Andrea L’Heureux, who co-owns the brewery with her husband Doug, told Colorado Beer Geek that the concept is named after the Micronesian word Kukaro, which “means to hang out, relax, and be.” Data online shows that the concept appeared to first be coined Platte River Brewing.
