The masterminds behind vibey venue Beacon are opening another bar just a block away. I Love Cake will be the name of the new concept at 2737 Larimer St., according to city permits filed recently.

Documents state that the property, a former commercial office, is “3,780 square feet of enclosed space to hold two bars, a dance floor, art rooms, restrooms, and storage” and an “additional 269 square feet of outdoor patio space along Larimer St.”

The total construction, mechanical, and plumbing work for the project is listed at $350,000. The owners will be adding bar equipment, lighting, and fixtures at the space, which they signed a lease for in August.

They described the vision for the bar as “a loungey space that is primarily brick & hardwood, has warm lighting, and is known for class but majorly loaded with quirks” to Westword, and said they anticipate opening sometime next year.
