Yemen Grill is set to expand its culinary footprint with a new location in Denver’s University neighborhood, down the street from DU, according to community Reddit posts. The business, which has a successful location in Aurora, is moving into the property at 1135 E Evans Ave.

Owner Hussein Rahma confirmed to What Now Denver that the lease has been signed and he is hoping to open in a few weeks “if all goes well with construction”. He said the space is spacious and will cater to everyone from students to families.

The venue will continue to offer the authentic Middle Eastern flavors the business is known for, with a special emphasis on Yemeni cuisine. Its menu online shows popular items including Oqda lamb, chicken shawarma sandwiches, traditional rice dishes, and more. There will also be specialty coffees, drinks, and specialty matcha.

Rahma said he has owned the Aurora Yemen Grill for nine years and “it was time to expand.  The cuisine is unique and caters to people from all over. I love Middle Eastern food and I was not able to find a restaurant here that fulfills my cravings, so I invested and opened one myself.”
