A new location of the popular fast-casual chain Taco Bell will come to the Nashville suburb of Carthage on Upper Ferry Road sometime this year, pending construction and permits. Imaan Ferdowsi, a partner at the Tennesee-based franchising group MRCO, is behind the expansion.
“We are hoping to break ground in April, after that it generally takes five months to open a location,” Ferdowsi told What Now Nashville.
Since the process is still in the beginning stages of finding a location, there is no confirmed address for the new Carthage location.
Taco Bell currently has over 250 locations in Tennessee and over 7,000 in the country. MRCO has been a leader in expanding the franchise in middle Tennessee for over 40 years and has no plans to slow down anytime soon.
“We’re very excited to get to know the community, we’ve been franchising locations in middle Tennessee since 1971 and we’re looking forward to now getting to be a part of Carthage,” Ferdowsi told What Now Nashville.
Taco Bell is most well-known for its convenient drive-thru system and versatile menu substitutions, such as requesting burritos and tacos to be black bean based rather than ground beef based, making it a favorite of vegetarians and meat-lovers alike.
Popular menu items include the Crunchwrap Supreme taco, Doritos Locos taco, chalupas, nachos, quesadillas, and the popular Mountain Dew Baja Blast blended beverage. The chain is also known for its Taco Bell Cantina locations, which operate in bigger cities and offer alcohol along with its food menu.
