Permits with Nashville Metro Planning Department show a new tenant will soon come to the mixed-use Kenect building in The Gulch. Nacho Daddy, a Vegas-based Mexican restaurant, is slated to open sometime this year at 800 19th Ave South.

A grand-opening date has not yet been announced, but it’s likely Nacho Daddy may open this summer, or later. The expansion comes from Nacho Daddy CEO and co-founder Paul Hymas.

Though Nacho Daddy is known best for its signature nacho dishes, the restaurant also serves a wide variety of food to accommodate everyone, including “all-day breakfast, Mexican-American collisions, and a full vegan menu all of which can be paired with our fresh, housemade specialty drinks,” as stated on the Nacho Daddy Website.

The restaurant is also well-known for its “scorpion shot,” which features an actual scorpion inside a shot glass of the customer’s liquor of choice, and has been featured on the Food Network, Travel Channel, and Animal Planet television shows.

Aside from its food, Nacho Daddy also prides itself on its efforts to give back to the community, setting the industry standard for fighting children’s hunger by donating an entree to a child in need with every entree sold in-house. Additionally, the restaurant partners with a local Las Vegas non-profit called the Golden Knights Foundation and donates a dollar for every Golden Knights Nacho dish sold, according to its website.

Nacho Daddy Nashville will be neighboring businesses like Chuy’s Tex-Mex restaurant, Velvet Tacos, Hopsmith, and The Baked Bear in The Gulch neighborhood of Nashville.
