Santa Monica’s pizza restaurant The Drift Kitchen is looking to relocate elsewhere in Los Angeles following the closure at 2917 Main St.

The company announced the closure earlier this year via Instagram. While pizza lovers will no longer have the option to visit this Santa Monica pizzeria, owners Eddie and Colleen Salcedo are still serving their Italian cuisine and Neapolitan pizza from their exciting pop-ups and events out of their West Hollywood sister restaurant, Rocketship Coffee. The husband-wife duo is also serving pizza from their other restaurant 2145 Eats in Costa Mesa. The chef couple previously owned Costa Mesa’s Pizzeria Ortica before its recent closure.

The exact location of the new restaurant is still unknown, as the Salcedo’s continue to search for the perfect spot. A brand new restaurant called Vamos Vamos will move into the Santa Monica space at an unknown time. When the owners find the new location, customers can expect the same menu that Santa Monica residents learned to love. Some of the original menu items include house-made breads, well-crafted salumi boards, a perfectly designed pizza selection, along with seasonal and local ingredients and specials.

“Our passion is for casual coastal cuisine and serving our communities the best of what our seasons, oceans, and local farms have to offer,” according to the company’s website. “We are all about taking the time to perfectly ferment our bread dough, source sustainable seafood, craft a mouth-watering burger, and blend the best seasonal ingredients to create exciting plates for our guests.”
