The fast-growing El Dia de Los Muertos-themed Mexican restaurant Kalaveras is opening a brand new location in Covina, located at 870 Arrow Hwy.

The new 5,719 square-foot location will move into the former home of Buffet China towards the end of the year. The restaurant, owned and operated by Jose and Francisco Brito, with the help of nephews Daniel Brito and Isaias Ocampo, currently has 12 locations throughout Los Angeles County. The family-run business also hopes to expand to Riverside, Long Beach, Silver Lake, Montclair, Newport Beach, Orange, and many more, all expected to open by the end of the year.

When these new locations open, customers can expect the vibrant colors of El Dia de Los Muertos, beautifully garnished cocktails, and the smells of mouthwatering dishes passing by. To cover all senses, Kalaveras also proudly plays the various Mexican genres such as new Latin Pop, Reggaeton hits, classic cumbias, regional Mexican hits, and more. This immersive experience indulges all of the senses, creating a unique experience even for those with the most complex of palates.

“Our culinary menu reflects a deep passion for traditional Mexican and Latin American cuisine with a modern Kalaveras twist,” according to the company’s website. Our Chef’s recipes are passed down from generation to generation. We showcase classics such as barbacoa and carnitas plates, which are slow-cooked to perfection, as well as unique twists on Enchiladas Verdes, Tacos Gobernador, and our exclusive Molcajete.”
