According to a recent liquor license application, the owners of WeHo’s trendy Laurel Hardware are opening another concept down the street at 8445 Santa Monica Blvd. Owner Dean McKillen said the new restaurant should be open “maybe next year.”
Laurel originally opened in 2012 and has risen in popularity thanks to its fresh farm-to-table fare and extensive list of spirits and wines. The hip establishment serves lunch and dinner with small plates like ahi tuna tartare, hamachi tacos and fried burrata; a variety of salads, pastas and pizzas; plus large plates like pan seared branzino and ribeye.
McKillen also owns Ysabel, an open-air restaurant in WeHo with a focus on creative cocktails and Mediterranean-inspired dishes, and is working on another concept in Culver City called Laurel Grill.
It’s uncertain what type of food and drinks will be served at McKillen’s newest restaurant.
