Pret a Manger, also known as just Pret, is set to open several stores throughout Los Angeles. Toddrickallen reports that signage has appeared for Pret at 901 Westwood Blvd. in Westwood Village, and his readers have speculated that the chain is also coming to the old Breadblok space in Studio City, in addition to other locations around L.A. There is currently one Pret located inside LAX, but these new stores will be the chain’s first standalone shops in Los Angeles.

One thing is for certain, franchisee Dallas Holdings is behind the new stores.

In an interview with Nation’s Restaurant News at the end of 2022, Shane Thakrar, president and CEO of Dallas Holdings, said, “We are extremely excited about bringing the Pret brand to the Southern California market…We feel California is a great new market for Pret, with many strong initial locations across Los Angeles and Orange County planned for our launch.”

Last October, Pret deepened its relationship with Dallas Holdings by announcing a joint venture with the company that would allow it to assume control of 50 out of the 66+ stores in the U.S., located in the New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C., as well as exclusive rights to open new shops in these cities.

Pret ultimately hopes to grow its U.S. portfolio to 300 stores by 2028.
