Erik Braverman and his partner, Jonathan Cottrell, the new owners of Gym Bar in West Hollywood, have exciting renovation plans for the popular gay sports bar located at 8919 Santa Monica Boulevard

According to a recent Instagram post, the updated space will include all new furniture, an upgraded A/V system, a brand new menu crafted by top chefs, and expanded bathrooms. The renovated bar will be designed by Carolyn Baylon Design.

“Our vision is crystal clear: to create an inclusive space that honors the past while embracing the future. We aim to elevate the experience for everyone who steps through our doors, fostering connections, camaraderie, and unforgettable moments,” the post reads.

As to avoid disrupting business hours, the renovations will happen in phases, according to the WeHo Times.

Braverman and Cottrell, who live in West Hollywood, were married at Dodger Stadium in January 2022. Braverman is the senior vice president of marketing, communications and broadcasting for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Cottrell is a model and also the co-founder of the app, Scenario.

Gym Bar’s history dates back to its original opening in New York in 2005. The WeHo location first opened in 2009 at 8737 Santa Monica Boulevard, and moved to its current location a few blocks away in 2021. Today, in addition to their New York and WeHo outposts, they also have a location in Fort Lauderdale’s Wilton Manors neighborhood.

It is unclear when renovations will be complete. Cottrell and Braverman could not be immediately reached for comment.
