Chef and restaurateur Jake Linzinmeir is trying to turn the second and third floors of 1522 Blake Street into a bed and breakfast, permitting records show. The timeline of the project is unknown, however, as he navigates Denver’s regulations.
“We are still trying to get thru the Denver red tape to get open. It’s taken close to 3 years at this point,” Linzinmeir told What Now Denver.
The property is owned by Cayuga Ventures LLC, and the space it would move into was formerly a restaurant. A building log filed with the city and county of Denver is being reviewed, and a commercial construction permit is listed as “in progress”.
While details about the specifics of this hotel are scarce, Denver’s bed and breakfast permit guidelines require 20 or fewer rooms, at least one meal per day provided, and most alcoholic beverages are prohibited. However, the B&B will have bottles of wine, a health review states.
Linzinmeir founded Bespoke Concepts, a hospitality development firm, in 2015. He has played a key role in designing and launching numerous restaurants and hotels across the country. With over 80 projects completed, his projects have spanned cities such as Denver, Boston, Nashville, and Kona.
