After recently opening a new location of Curry Gate, it was reported that the owners were getting ready to open a new version of the restaurant, called Curry Junction, in Charlotte at 8200 Providence Rd.

The company’s new location of the concept was thought to be what is replacing Akropolis Cafe in The Arboretum Shopping Center, according to the Charlotte Observer. Curry Gate owner reached out to What Now to clarify this is not true. The company only recently made Curry Gate’s debut as a food stall in the Monarch Market and opened a brick-and-mortar at 630 W 24th St. Curry Gate is not expanding at this time.

It’s unclear how this information was mistaken, but Curry Gate and Curry Junction are two different parties with no relatable ties, according to the company representative, who also mentions the brand will only go by that name moving forward when it decides to open new locations in the future. The representative tells What Now that someone is using Curry Gate’s name to advertise their business.

If Curry Gate ever decides to open a new site, customers can expect delicious Indian cuisine, including freshly baked naan, Tikka Masala, Korma, and Momo. The owners opened Curry Gate on West 24th Street in 2020 before expanding to a second location on South Boulevard earlier this year. The company also owns the Indian restaurant King of Spicy in East Charlotte at 8829 E W.T. Harris Blvd #107.
