A brand new restaurant called Amore Mio Pizzeria is getting ready to open its doors for the first time in St. Johns, located at 4021 County Road 210 Ste 3.

The new restaurant will join Halo Studio and Kinder Kafe in a newly built development off Old Country Road. Owner Dennis Waugerman tells What Now Jacksonville that he initially hoped to open on June 6, but delays have pushed back the opening by a week or two. Now he is hopeful to have the restaurant open by mid-to-late June 2023. Before this, Waugerman owned another pizzeria, followed by a food truck called Wauga Wauga. He tells the publications that he’s ready to return to a brick-and-mortar.

When Amore Mio Pizzeria opens next month, customers can expect a handful of starters and salads, as well as plenty of subs, entrees, and of course, pizza. Some items found on the menu include lasagna, eggplant parm, fettuccine alfredo, calzone, and stromboli. This will be a perfect spot for the new pizzeria, considering its only competition is Papa Murphy’s in Johns Creek Center.

“It all started in Naples, Italy, in the early 1900s when our family opened their first restaurant, which continued to grow throughout the generations,” according to the company’s website. “Being the third generation with over 20 years of experience, our family is excited to bring the authentic taste of Italy to you. At Amore Mio Pizzeria, you will love the family recipes that we have to share. Our caring and committed staff will make sure you have an experience that you will love!”
