Strings Sports Brewery, the family-friendly sports bar in Springfield, is getting ready to open a new location in Jacksonville Beach at 1618 Penman Rd.
The Jacksonville Beach Planning Commission voted 5-0 to approve the brewery moving into the former home of Terry’s Country Store, according to Jacksonville Daily Record. Construction on the building is expected to begin this summer and open sometime next year. Owner Scott Adeeb of Team Adeeb Inc. purchased the property on Jan. 13 for $1.5 million. Customers can expect a restaurant, brewery, and outdoor seating that is facing Penman Road.
“We’re family-friendly, family-oriented. And that’s kind of our little niche and what we created, and we’re looking forward to doing the same thing out here at the beach,” Adeeb tells JDR.
The family-owned company took over the former home of Henrietta’s at 1850 N. Main Street, which the city foreclosed in 2009. Adeeb enlisted his sons, Trevor and Colby, as the head brewers and his daughter, Kaiti, to serve as the general manager. Since opening, the brewery has made a name for itself through its delicious beer and food, as well as special events every week, such as Tuesday night bingo. The new location will likely continue to host events.
Last year the company started to offer food specials that come with a 10oz pour of a highlighted beer recommendation. Some combinations include fish & chips with the String Music Lager, bangers & mash with a Red Caps Red Ale, and royal red shrimp ceviche with a Miracle on Ice hazy IPA. On top of delicious bar food, the brewery will also supply its customers with its own line of beers, such as the 6-4-3- Double IPA and Birdie Holler Belgian Wit.
