After recently opening a first-of-its-kind buffet in Jacksonville, Chow’s Country Buffet is already planning to open a second location in the area.
The new buffet recently replaced the Golden Corral near Jacksonville’s Tinseltown area at 4250 Southside Boulevard, offering a “Southern Classics with an Asian Twist.” Chow’s Restaurant LLC is now planning to open another location in Jacksonville before expanding beyond Northeast Florida, according to The Florida Times-Union. Managing Partner Evan Chen tells the publication the company is scouting out possible locations on the Westside for the second Jacksonville site, but a decision has yet to be made.
“First, we’re going to have another location in Jacksonville, then one in Orlando and one in Birmingham, Ala.,” Chen tells The Florida Times-Union. “Once those are successful, we plan to have more across the Southeast.”
When the new location opens, customers can expect more than 150 freshly made entrees, sides, salads, and desserts, as well as special seasonal dishes that align with the holidays. On an average day, customers will find Southern entrees such as barbecue ribs, butter shrimp, barbecue chicken, baked chicken, seafood broil, and more. Chow’s also offers a handful of Asian offerings, including Beijing Beef, General Tso’s Chicken, Chinese doughnuts, egg rolls, and more.
Although Chow’s recently debuted in Jacksonville, it is part of a longtime family-owned and operated line of buffet restaurants throughout Florida and the South, including Chow Time Grill & Buffet and Chow Won Korean Steakhouse. Lunch at Chow’s Country Buffet costs $11.49 for adults Monday through Friday and $15.99 on the weekend, with senior citizen and military discounts available. Dinner will cost $15.99 for adults Monday through Sunday.
