A new multi-functioning concept called The Cereal Box is raising money to eventually open in Downtown Jacksonville, located at 245 E. Adams St.

The new concept would open in the early morning until 3 p.m. as a breakfast eatery that serves cereal, smoothie bowls, bagels, muffins, breakfast sandwiches, and other nostalgic breakfast offerings, as well as coffee, tea, and juices, according to its DIA application. The Cereal Box would then close and reopen two hours later as a live music hall where guests would be offered food, beer, and wine. Co-owners Paul and Victoria Jackson have yet to set an exact opening date, considering they are in the fundraising stage of opening.

The owners are scheduled to meet with the DIA Retail Enhancement and Property Disposition Committee tomorrow to consider a $21,500 Basic Retail Enhancement Program grant, according to Jacksonville Daily Record. If awarded, the grant would be designated toward the $84,200 build-out and equipment costs. Jackson plans to lease the entire two-story building, where he would also operate Vibe Live Records and Vibe Live Studios. In case the owners aren’t awarded the grant, they recently launched a GoFundMe with a goal of $33,000.

“Your contribution fuels the stage lights, amplifies the beats, and sets the scene for unforgettable experiences,” according to the GoFundMe. “Be a part of something extraordinary—support the launch of “The Cereal Bar” and help us shape Jacksonville’s cultural landscape. Your donation not only brings music to life but also crafts a space where creativity thrives, making a lasting mark on our community. Your donation will directly contribute to crucial elements, like fixing our fire sprinkler system for safety, meeting building permit requirements for ADA compliance, and ensuring all the essential vibes are in place to create an inclusive and sensational venue. Let’s transform downtown Jacksonville into a haven for music enthusiasts and cereal lovers alike. Together, let’s make “The Cereal Bar” the go-to spot for unforgettable nights filled with music, creativity, and the perfect blend of cereals and smoothies.”
