A local Dunkin Donuts franchise owner is getting ready to renovate a handful of sites, including the possible addition of a Baskin Robbins at one of its Jacksonville locations.
Mark Weber, an existing Dunkin Donuts franchisee with sites throughout North Florida and South Georgia, has recently been approved for two remodels by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. First, he’s been approved to remodel its Dunkin Donuts at 842-1 Dunn Avenue. The successful franchise owner has also been approved to renovate the site at 3430 University Boulevard South. There’s a chance Weber will add a Baskin Robbins to the latter, according to the plan review application.
There is no exact timeline for these remodels, and whether or not they will close for the renovations is still yet to be determined. If Weber is adding a Baskin Robbins to his existing Dunkin Donuts, it wouldn’t be a surprise, as Inspire Brands acquired both brands for $11.3 billion in 2020. The addition of Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins caused Inspire to encompass nearly 32,000 restaurants across more than 60 countries, making it the second-largest restaurant company in the U.S. by both system sales and locations.
“We are excited to reach this important milestone together with our incredible franchisees, licensees, employees, and suppliers,” Dave Hoffmann, the former CEO of Dunkin’ Brands, said at the time of the acquisition. “Over the past few years, we have accomplished much to be proud of, including the execution of our strategic plans that led to the transformation of our two beloved, iconic brands. We are confident that Inspire’s proven stewardship of franchised restaurant concepts and best-in-class capabilities will drive further growth for both Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins around the world.”
