The owner of Happy Chef, an Eastern European restaurant previously founded in Bunnell, is getting ready to open a new location called Happy Chef Bistro and Deli in Flagler Beach at 210 Old Kings Road S, Suite 700-800.

Owner/ Chef Oleg Popok is getting ready to open the same restaurant that was founded in Bunnell, except this time, he is opening it with a new 3,000-square-foot grocery market in the same building, according to a recent plan review application submitted to the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. Happy Chef Bistro and Deli is expected to open in Summer 2024, offering Ukrainian and other European meals.

This will be a fantastic location for the company’s new home, sharing a building with Dance Amadis Ballroom, Palm Coast Marketing of NY, Allure European Day Spa, and more. It will become the primary eating option of this shopping center and should find great success with all the foot traffic. More traffic should lead to the restaurant coming from the Flagler Animal Hospital and the Winn-Dixie-anchored shopping center adjacent to two major hotels along Interstate 95.

Popok operated from Bunnell for several years and is highly rated amongst the community. Last summer, he decided to sell the restaurant, and Alberto Domenech, the owner of the Latino Market in Palm Coast, snapped it up to open Domenech Corner Cuban Restaurant. Now, Popok is finally able to find a suitable home for his beloved restaurant. Customers can expect the same menu, featuring a variety of delicious European food and beer and wine options.
