As national burger chain Culver’s prepares to open a new location this month, a different franchise group hopes to open a new one in North Jacksonville at 14011 Hyatt Road.

The Barbaresco Group LLC recently filed civil engineering plans with the city via Newkirk Engineering Inc. to open a new location of the restaurant at northeast Max Leggett Parkway and Hyatt Road, first reported by Jacksonville Daily Record. This is the same franchise group that opened a Culver’s in 2022 in the Regency area of Arlington. If approved, the group will open a 4,570-square-foot restaurant with two drive-thru lanes on 1.684 acres.

This is an impressive achievement for the Wisonsin-based company, considering the first Culver’s opened in the area in July 2019 under the Lichte family, who is preparing to open their next location at 4768 Hodges Boulevard on June 17. The family, doing business as GateLite3 LLC, is also scouting sites for a new location. Another franchise group, led by owners Garth and Lisa Darton, has opened two additional locations in the greater Jacksonville area, including 2620 Stratton Boulevard and 3433 U.S. 1, both in St. Augustine.

Now, Culver’s third franchise group is focusing on North Jacksonville. When the new location opens, customers can expect the restaurant’s signature ButterBurgers and frozen custard, as well as chicken sandwiches, tenders, seafood sandwiches, salads, sides, soups, and more. There will be 52 parking spaces, as well as indoor and patio seating, according to a JEA service availability request. The new Culver’s will sit east of the Department of Veterans Affairs outpatient clinic and domiciliary, which is expected to open later this year.
