LongHorn Steakhouse, an American casual dining restaurant chain owned and operated by Darden Restaurants, is opening a new location in Palm Coast along State Road 100.

The company’s newest location is set to move into the BJ’s Warehouse Shopping Center opening later this year, according to Flagler Live. LongHorn Steakhouse will join Miller’s Ale House and Chase Bank, as well as two vacant spots that have yet to be filled. The new 5,780-square-foot restaurant is listed as a $725,000 project in its permit application, according to plans submitted to the county. It will have a capacity for 184 diners–26 in the bar area and 158 in the dining area.

LongHorn first opened independently in 1981 before Darden eventually acquired the brand in 2007. Today, the company has opened 562 LongHorn restaurants nationwide, second in number behind Olive Garden, which has 897 restaurants nationwide and eight more in Canada. The Palm Coast LongHorn Steakhouse is one of 15 and 18 locations projected to open nationwide this year. Last year, the company opened 18 LongHorn Steakhouse locations and closed only two. One reason why the company continues to see such a great turnaround through its locations is because of its dedication to quality food.

“One of the most important elements of the guest experience is a perfectly grilled steak, and the brand goes to extraordinary lengths to ensure their culinary team is brilliant with the basics when it comes to steaks grilled correctly,” according to Darden’s 2023 annual report. “To further drive consistent execution, LongHorn recently completed the sixth Steak Master Series — their annual grilling competition and training program. Over the course of two months, thousands of culinary team members participated in a series of competitions that tested their knowledge at the grill, culminating with one ultimate champion, Kylie Hall, from Farragut, Tenn. This highly engaging program drives LongHorn’s culture and reinforces its quality standards across the heart-of-house, resulting in a great steakhouse experience for our guests.”
