Famous bagel shop H&H Bagels is expanding outside Manhattan for the first time and has its eyes on Jacksonville as CEO Jay Rushin states “The interest level in the state of Florida was literally through the roof.”

The Jacksonville Business Journal reports there are planned locations for early 2025 in the Tampa and the Jacksonville area. The first store is set for the Shoppes of Aberdeen at 3735 Longleaf Pine Pkwy. in St. Johns. Reportedly the team is also “hard at work” on the following two stores.

“I think quite a few people recognize the hole in the marketplace down there. And there’s tons of New Yorkers that gravitated down there over the years,” Rushin said to th JBJ. “Driving around with the Jacksonville group and real estate brokers, it was like, that area is already committed for 5,000 homes and right there, that’s another 5,000 homes…”

No opening date has been announced.
