The building on the southeast corner of Central Avenue North and 18th Street South is getting a brand new restaurant in the space formerly occupied by the Hideaway Cafe. The Neon Lunchbox, launched by James Castetter and Chelsey Andrews, will open at 1756 Central Avenue, says recent coverage by St. Pete Rising.

Sporting a retro theme, the Neon Lunchbox will be full of nostalgia for the 80’s and 90’s (yes, those are the “retro” decades now!), and it will serve as a venue for DJs and live music on weekends. Expect lots of throwbacks.

The Neon Lunchbox will feature murals by a local artist, a private VIP area, and a cocktail program put together by local mixologist Ben Harris. No information has yet been released about the brand’s food offerings, but there will be food on offer.

Opening in the Central Avenue space, the Neon Lunchbox joins The Burg Bar & Grill and local cafe Dirty Laundry. It’s expected to open in the next two months.

Castetter and Andrews are also behind The Half-Baked Potato, another local restaurant. What Now has reached out to Andrews and is awaiting more information on The Neon Lunchbox.
