“Coffee Lounge, Bakery, Daily Eats”—that’s what you’ll find at Urban Grounds, located at 150 E. Tarpon Ave in Downtown Tarpon Springs. It’s “the perfect place to grab a cup of coffee and stroll downtown Tarpon Springs,” the brand’s website says. “We offer comfortable seating and WiFi to work on your laptop or catch up with friends. We are right on the bike trail, so stop in for a cold drink on your ride.”
With a menu featuring Breakfast Sammies plus more hot and cold sandwiches, Urban Grounds has become a Downtown Tarpon Springs favorite—and now it’s expanding with a sister concept launching just across the street: Urban Roots.
“At Urban Roots, we believe that great food and great company go hand in hand,” the upcoming restaurant’s website says. “Our mission is to create memorable dining experiences by providing exceptional service and delicious cuisine. We are committed to using only the freshest ingredients and supporting local farmers for an optimal Global Bistro Menu.”
Billing itself as a “downtown global bistro” with “fresh and sustainable dining” and a “unique lifestyle menu,” Urban Roots will also offer cocktails and other drinks.
What Now reached out on Monday to owner Annie Appenzeller. Appenzeller was not immediately available for comment on news of the Urban Roots opening.
