Yaocho will soon open a stall at The Square, the new downtown DC food hall that is co-founded by restaurateurs Rubén García and Richie Brandenburg.

A liquor license application was filed for the restaurant on August 11, stating that the eatery can seat up to 13 guests.

Yaocho, which will open inside The Square at 1850 K Street NW, is the latest concept by restaurateur John Mooney, who owns the Southern-inspired restaurant, Bidwell DC, in Union Market.

Mooney confirmed to What Now DC that Yaocho is set to open in September. The new restaurant will bring Polynesian flavors to its customers with dishes ranging from chicken to seafood, superfood juices, and sweet treats.

The prominent restaurateur continues to bring an inspiring culinary experience to DC that stems from his global journey, creating menus and overseeing kitchen operations from India to Ireland. He is also the co-owner of Bell Book & Candle in New York City and Kakele House in Hawaii.
