A trio of Petworth crafters are creating a paradise for local artisans looking for a space to facilitate their hobbies while enjoying a beverage and a snack. Megan Flynn, Madeleine Odendahl, and Michele Molotsky are bringing Merry Pin, a combination retail store and cafe, to DC later this year, reports local media outlet Petworth News.

According to paperwork filed with the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration, Merry Pin will be occupying a facility at 7350 Georgia Avenue, N.W., where it can accommodate up to 75 customers. The space will be able to seat up to 46 visitors indoors, with zoning for a 15 seat sidewalk cafe.

Flynn, Odendahl, and Molotsky launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund their dream of creating a welcoming and inclusive space for crafters. In addition to providing shopping options, Merry Pin will feature an area where people can meet and work on their respective disciplines. Additionally, the concept will offer cocktails, wine, beer, espresso, coffee, tea, and assorted snacks.

An official opening date is not yet available, however Merry Pin’s website states that it is still hoping to open in early 2024.
