A DC pizza institution is preparing to give Annapolis foodies a new pie to get fired up about. Timber Pizza Co., which has been satisfying Petworth customers since 2016, is opening a new location in the Maryland neighborhood later this year, reports local media outlet Eater Washington DC.

The pizzeria will be setting up its signature wood-fired grill at 192 West Street in the home of a former art gallery. Timber Pizza Co. co-founder Chris Brady is hoping to begin serving slices by August.

Timber’s lovingly crafted pies have earned considerable critical acclaim since its auspicious entrance to the DMV pizza scene. The pizzeria has won the Michelin “Bib Gourmand” Award from 2018 to 2022. Bon Appetit named the restaurant the “pizzeria of the year” in 2017, and Timber made Washington City Paper’s “best pizza” from 2016 to 2022.

Timber is currently feeding happy customers out of stores in Petworth, Ballston, and the Reagan Airport. Additionally, the concept has taken its cuisine to the streets. Timber food trucks deliver delicious slices throughout the DMV.
