Healthy, Made-to-Order Treats Coming to Fair City Mall

Fair City Mall walkers will soon have a delicious new way to power up for their shopping sprees. DC area favorite South Block-known for putting a healthy spin on fast-casual dining-is bringing its acai bowls and smoothies to the Fairfax Shopping center.

The chain will be joining several other eateries when it opens later this year at 9650 Main Street. A South Block representative confirms to What Now DC that the eatery intends to open this location before the end of 2024.

South Block has made a name and fanbase for itself through its made-to-order acai bowls, smoothies, and cold-pressed juices. The company first opened its doors in 2011, in Clarendon, Virginia. South Block has experienced considerable growth since then, and now includes 16 locations across the DMV region. 

2024 has been a particularly fruitful period of growth for the brand. South Block will close out the year with four newly opened locations; in addition to the Fair City Mall shop, the chain has stores in Chantilly, Dulles Airport, and the West End in DC set to open before the start of 2025.
