Sterling shoppers, grab the salsa and the queso. Taco Zocalo is bringing a welcome burst of authentic Mexican flavor to the retail experience at the Town Center at Sterling later this year.

The restaurant, opening in the mall at 21800 Towncenter Plaza, does not have an opening date yet. Taco Zocalo is listed only as “coming soon” on both the shopping center and the restaurant’s websites.

Taco Zocalo has a modest but respectable presence throughout Virginia. The Sterling restaurant will be the concept’s fifth location, alongside storefronts in Reston, Ashburn, Chantilly, and Falls Church.

Taco Zocalo is the passion project of Chef Basir Ahadi. He hopes that the concept will bring diners a little closer to Mexican culture in every way, from the food to the ambiance. He tells What Now DC: “We offer more than just a meal; we provide an immersive experience that celebrates the vibrant spirit of Mexico. From the moment you step through our doors, you’ll be greeted by the aroma of sizzling spices and the sounds of Latin music. Our menu features a tantalizing array of tacos, burritos, and other Mexican delights, organic inhouse tortillas, crafted with the finest ingredients and authentic flavors.”
