Vienna diners, get ready for a brand-new concept from one of the best in the culinary game. Victor Albisu, the mind and apron behind Taco Bamba, is debuting his latest restaurant, Electric Bull, in the neighborhood next year, reports local media outlet FFXNow.
The eatery, which will focus heavily on steak, will be moving into the space vacated by Cava at 176 Maple Avenue West. The 2,488 square foot space will be able to accommodate up to 80 customers and will feature a full-service bar. Electric Bull will offer al fresco dining on an outdoor patio for customers hoping to enjoy the fresh air alongside their meals.
Albisu spoke to What Now DC about bringing his latest vision to fruition in his hometown, saying “Living in Vienna as I do-and have for a long time-I’ve been able to see some growth. We have a beautifully wonderful team of people at Taco Bamba, so we’ve learned a lot and we’ve been part of the community and seen how it’s grown from a culinary perspective.”
Chef Albisu is diving into Electric Bull with great enthusiasm. He states “’Now’ is my favorite word. I love seeing ideas grow and come to. I tell everybody that my ideas have been nothing short of my biggest teachers.”
After dedicating years to establishing Taco Bamba as a DMV favorite, Albisu is excited to return to a culinary avenue near and dear to his heart. He explains “It’s a real kind of logical next step and a return to something I really love, which is the grill. It’s been an amazing journey to grow a brand like Taco Bamba, with all the learning that’s come from it, but I’m happy to take on a new challenge.”
Albisu is no stranger to the world of grilling and butchering; in fact, he was raised in the culture. “This is a return,” he states. “I grew up in my mother’s butcher shop around amazing people who taught me so much about the craft. It’s an amazing opportunity to bring something to my neighborhood and see where that goes.”
Vienna foodies can look forward to enjoying a welcoming environment alongside their delicious meals. Albisu describes his hopes for the space, stating “ We want it to be something approachable to the neighborhood so they can feel like it’s something that’s theirs, and where they don’t have to break the bank. You can come and enjoy the vibe and high quality meats. We’re going to be providing a butcher service as well. I think it fits the town perfectly and I’m very much looking forward to getting it off the ground.”
An exact opening date is not currently available, however Albisu is aiming to begin serving guests in summer of 2025.
Albisu is certain to make Electric Bull a Vienna staple, where visitors will leave sated and content. He explains his objective, saying “I’m very humbled by the opportunity to be able to cook for people and to be able to provide a good experience and a good place to dine. It’s so valuable. I think that the people of Vienna are great foodies who really expect a lot of their food and I just want to be a part of that.”
