A popular chain is setting out to show Virginia shoppers that retail therapy and fast-casual cuisine are a match made in heaven. Sweetgreen, a national favorite that strives to bring healthier options to the table, is opening a new location in the Fairfax Corner shopping mall next year.
The eatery will be joining a rich neighborhood of restaurants when it opens at the 4100 Monument Corner Drive shopping center. Jaime Schecter of Sweetgreen’s PR team confirmed with What Now DC that the chain’s Fairfax Corner location will be opening in the first half of 2025.
Fairfax will be getting a taste of what several Virginia townships already know and love. Founded in 2007, Sweetgreen already has 10 locations open, with a Carytown Exchange storefront on the way in addition to the Fairfax Corner eatery.
Locals curious about what the chain may have to offer and how it may distinguish itself from the crowded fast-casual dining scene will be delighted to learn that Sweetgreen specializes in the under-represented salad medium. In addition to a steady supply of salads and warm bowls, the restaurant offers a seasonal menu that rotates 5 times, annually.
