A DMV entrepreneur is giving Ballston pasta a fast-casual makeover this spring. Burak Temel is opening a neighborhood location of Scolapasta, his Italian concept that strives to be the “Chipotle of Italian food” in 2025, reports local media outlet ARLNow.
Temel is bringing his eatery to 4219 Fairfax Drive. Ballston is trading out one form of Italian cuisine for another; the space last housed Pizza Roma. Scolapasta had previously hoped to open this summer, however the restaurant now projects being able to greet guests in March of 2025.
Scolapasta offers Ballston pasta enthusiasts plenty to be excited about. The restaurant invites guests to curate their ideal dish, choosing from five different pasta varieties and seven types of sauce. Finally, patrons can complete their culinary masterpieces by choosing from five different toppings, including proteins and cheeses.
While the chance to create a dream pasta will be the primary allure for many future regulars, Scolapasta also offers a few select Chef’s Favorites for those looking for a prefabricated recipe.
Scolapasta’s Ballston home will be its second location; the concept opened its first restaurant in Tysons Galleria in late November of 2024.
