The DC culinary scene is kicking off 2025 right, with a little assist from a New York institution. Cafe Fiorello, an import from the Empire State, will be opening its first District location this winter, reports local media outlet PoPville.

The restaurant will be opening in the former home of Tadich Grill at 1001 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. While a precise opening date is not currently available, Fireman Hospitality-the restaurant group at the helm of the Italian concept-confirms that Cafe Fiorello will be opening its DC home in late February of 2025.

The eatery has already won hearts in New York City thanks to its welcoming ambiance and superior Italian cuisine. The website offers DC diners a sneak peak at what they can expect in the coming weeks, saying “Experience our warm Italian hospitality from the moment you enter our doors. Enjoy our elaborate vegetable and seafood antipasto bar, as well as all of our pastas, local fish, chops, and don’t miss our famous signature thin-crust pizzas.”
