Arlington pizza fans, get ready. Ravenna, a brand new pizzeria, is getting ready to serve up hot slices in Rosslyn next month, according to the Washington Business Journal.

In a perfect reflection of the American melting pot, the Virginia restaurant will be serving Roman-style pizza, brought to customers by an Afghan entrepreneur. Founder Mustafa Durran will be debuting his inaugural restaurant at 1500 Wilson Boulevard. The 3,000 square foot space housed Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop until its closing in 2022.

Durran previously told What Now DC that his personal passion for pizza made Ravenna the perfect way for him to cut his teeth in the hospitality industry.  Speaking of his history with the dish, he states: “I visited Rome a few years ago and that’s when I fell in love with Roman style pizza. I became more interested, learned more about it, then became obsessed, and here we are!”

Rosslyn diners won’t have to wait much longer to sink their teeth into a piping hot slice; Ravenna will be holding its grand opening on February 24.

In addition to an impressive array of pain-takingly prepared pies, the restaurant’s menu features paninis, salads, pastries, and gelato.
