A local sandwich shop is preparing to complete a DMV hat trick. Grazie Grazie-an Italian deli that has already made a big impression in DC-is opening a new location in Ballston, reports local media outlet ARLNow.
The concept will be moving into the long-vacant storefront at 4201 Wilson Boulevard that previously housed Farmbird. While an opening timeline is not currently available, Grazie Grazie signage is in the space’s windows, suggesting forward momentum.
Grazie Grazie is the brainchild of busy local restaurateur Casey Patten. In addition to the soon-to-be three Grazie Grazie locations, Patten co-owns Grazie Nonna and Little Chicken.
While Grazie Grazie offers the expected sandwiches, the restaurant also features big salads, cheesesteaks, and an array of starters. The K Street location serves pizza, however the Wharf storefront does not; it is unclear if the Ballston shop will be slinging pies.
Ballston residents can look forward to enjoying quality food, made fresh. The restaurant’s website quippily explains: “The greatest thing since sliced bread…is putting more food between it. Add honest ingredients from quality people, prepare with intergrity and care, then your hearts and stomachs will be saying “grazie” . Case in point, sliced bread is a great invention, but sandwiches? Even better.”
