A fast-casual chain with expansion on its mind has set its sights on the DMV-region. Just Salad is actively scouting DC-area locations and markets, reports the Washington Business Journal.
The healthier concept (which now offers wraps, warm bowls, and smoothies in addition to the titular salads) does not currently have any storefronts in DC or the surrounding area. According to a social media post shared by the KLNB real estate agency, Just Salad has narrowed down the field of potential markets to around 13 neighborhoods.
Many of these potential future homes will be familiar to DMV diners. The restaurant’s Virginia prospects include Courthouse, Old Town, Reston, Sterling, Tysons, Vienna, and Fairfax. Maryland’s Bethesda and Rockville Pike/North Bethesda neighborhoods hold appeal to Just Salad, while the brand is eyeing Capitol Hill, Foggy Bottom, and 14th Street & Navy Yard in DC proper.
Just Salad has not signed leases for storefronts in any of the above listed neighborhoods, however the chain is intent on entering the region, believing it will “support new unit growth.” While an opening timeline is not available, DC diners have plenty of reason to be excited. As KLNB states: “Get ready to experience healthy, affordable, and eco-friendly meals that are as delicious as they are climate-conscious. With 80+ locations across seven states! Just Salad is leading the way in sustainable dining with options like wraps, grain bowls, smoothies, soups, and – of course – their signature, damn good salads.”
