Literature and wine will come together at Vesper Books & Wine, a new bookstore and wine bar coming to Detroit in the Core City neighborhood.

Symantha Duggan and Rob Wilson are the minds behind Vesper Books & Wine. The concept is going into a former Detroit Savings Bank at 5001 Grand River Avenue in a space formerly occupied by the Grand on River event venue.

According to Eater Detroit, Vesper Books & Wine is expected to open in spring 2024 in a 2,400-square-foot space in the building. In addition to beverages, the shop will sell cookbooks, tinned seafood and a limited supply of cookware.

What Now Detroit has reached out to the owners and will update this story as more information becomes available.

Ahead of the store’s opening, the business is hosting pop-up events, including an end-of-summer party this weekend on Sept. 10, 2023, featuring music, food and vendors at Core City Park. The event will benefit I-Collective.
