A multi-unit franchisee posted earlier this year on their private Facebook about opening a new Jersey Mike’s Subs location in Bay City. What Now Detroit reached out to Michael Balen, Operating Partner of Great Lakes Subs, LLC. Balen confirmed that the new location is looking to open in December.

The Bay City shop is located at 803 N. Euclid Ave in a vacant space between Baskin Robin’s and Boost Mobile in a small center at the northwest corner of N Euclid Avenue and E North Union Road. The 2,000-square-foot space will accommodate 20 to 25 indoor seats. This will be the first Jersey Mike’s inside Bay City. Currently, Bay City sandwich lovers would need to go to Balen’s stores in Flint and Grand Blanc, or the Midland location operated by another franchisee.

“Jersey Mike’s is a really well-respected brand, and these announcements always get a lot of excitement, but I’ve probably never had a reaction like I did with the Bay City location. I can tell people are very excited about us opening up there,” Balen told MLive in an earlier coverage this year.

Jersey Mike’s is on an expansion path in Michigan with multiple franchisee-owned locations opening or on the horizon this year. The fast-casual sandwich brand originated in New Jersey and is one of the fastest-growing restaurant chains in the nation today.
