MENSHO, the Tokyo-based chain of award-winning ramen shops, is planning a new location in the Valley, this time working on a site in Glendale.

Previously, What Now Phoenix reported on Mensho making its Arizona debut at Mesa Riverview last summer, followed by a second location in uptown Phoenix, which opened in January. Now, franchise owner Huy Truong is ready to open another location this year in the Westgate neighborhood of Glendale. Truong tells What Now Phoenix that he hopes to open this location sometime this year but couldn’t provide an exact opening date. When it opens, customers can expect creative ramen options incorporating modern twists, such as high-quality ingredients, unique broths, and innovative toppings, like truffle oil, seafood blends, and more.

Founded in 2005 by ramen master Tomoharu Shono, MENSHO has several ramen concept stores in Japan and abroad, including the ‘MENSHO’ and ‘Menya Shono’ brands. Shono has received numerous awards, including 1st place in the TRY Ramen Awards and the Shinjuku JG Ramen Grand Prix. He has been featured in gourmet magazines like Michelin and ZAGAT and actively promotes ramen culture internationally, serving as an ambassador for Australian lamb and guest chef at Twitter HQ in California.

MENSHO connects directly with farms and traditional kura to utilize fresh, seasonal ingredients. They create new menu items for each season and craft original noodles from whole wheat grains ground in-house, capturing the true essence of wheat. MENSHO aims to establish a connection between farms and customers, honoring the dedication of farmers while creating delicious dishes efficiently and sustainably.
