According to a recent permit filing, Lechon Loco aims to debut in Tacoma at 3511 McKinley Avenue.
“Lechon Loco, a Filipino-Latin Restaurant, is coming soon to 3511 McKinley Ave. The owner, Gerold Castro, says they are waiting on licensing and then will be doing a refresh on the interior. Castro currently operates West Hill Deli in Auburn,” a post from The Tacoma Sun states.
West Hill Deli’s website tells us more about Gerold: “Our chef Gerold has over 20+ years of experience in restaurant, fine dining & catering. He started West Hill Deli believing that gourmet food should be accessible to everyone. He has a deep understanding of Filipino and American cuisines. At the same time, he’s known for adding unique and modern twists to the culinary classics.”
“Our philosophy while taking and giving exceptional attention to our guests, we are dedicated to offering excellent quality food while taking good care of our team and profit. We continuously strive to surpass our own goals and be recognized leaders in the food industry. Creating a dining experience where your satisfaction is our priority.”
Lechon Loco will be taking over the former Ruca Family Restaurant space. The restaurant’s website describes the concept: “Owned and operated by Willy Ceria, Ruca Family Restaurant is a fusion of Filipino, Hawaiian and Latin cuisine. His food is a reflection of his Filipino heritage and his wife Lidia’s Mexican roots.”
