Chubby Skewer, the first U.S. branch of the popular Chinese barbecue chain, which operates over a hundred locations in China, is preparing to open a new location in Mesa at 1955 W Guadalupe Rd, Ste 105.
The company’s newest location is set to move into the former home of BBQ House, located on the southeast corner of Guadalupe and Dobson Roads, according to signage on the building. It’s unclear when this restaurant is expected to open, but it’s the latest from Chubby Group, which also operates dining concepts such as X Pot, Chubby Cattle, Niku X, and Mikiya. This will be the first time the restaurant group lands in Arizona, with dozens of restaurants already in California, Nevada, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Georgia, and New York.
