Two Sweathouz locations might undergo makeovers.

Interior remodels are proposed for the wellness studios at 1080 Peachtree Street NE and 980 Howell Mill Road NW, according to building permit applications with the City of Atlanta.

Sweathouz is an infrared sauna and cold plunge studio. According to the company, some benefits of going to an infrared sauna include increased collagen and elastin production, muscle recovery and detoxification. The studios offer 60-minute sessions, with 45 minutes recommended in the sauna followed by time in the vitamin C-infused shower. Memberships range from $79 to $329.

The Peachtree Street location in Midtown opened in 2020, followed by the West Midtown studio the next year. Sweathouz can also be found in Buckhead, Vinings, Sandy Springs and Roswell.

The estimated cost of construction on the Midtown remodel is $300,000, with the West Midtown remodel estimated at $350,000, according to the building permit applications.

Legacy Franchise Concepts is the team behind the studios. The Atlanta-based company is also an operator of the dog daycare Dogtopia.

It’s not yet clear if the Sweathouz studios will be closed during the remodels.
