Charlotte-based Salted Melon will bring a second location to the Atlanta area. It will open at forthcoming mixed-use development Hillcrest, which will open in Sandy Springs in summer 2027, according to a release.

Salted Melon first launched in the Atlanta area in February 2026 when it opened in Buckhead. That location was the fourth location for the brand, joining three existing locations in North Carolina.

The Hillcrest location will be the sixth for the brand, following another location expected to open in South Carolina in spring 2027.

Salted Melon offers breakfast, lunch and dinner and is known for health-focused menu items such as salads, bowls, sandwiches, smoothies, pastries and specialty coffee and tea.

“We are excited for the opportunity to expand to Sandy Springs and offer a second destination for everyday gourmet in the Atlanta area,” Thomas Coker, owner and founder of Salted Melon, said in the release. “We chose Hillcrest for its convenient location, emphasis on patio-heavy retail spaces and the city’s vision for a pedestrian-friendly downtown. The community is poised to become a vibrant destination in Sandy Springs, and we are proud to be a part of it.”

When it opens, Hillcrest will offer an 8.1-acre mixed-use development in Sandy Springs featuring 362 apartments, 30 for-rent townhomes, a greenspace and more than 19,000 square feet of retail space.
