A new BeltLine location of a popular Chinese restaurant is moving forward.

Northern China Eatery is planned for 678 Edgewood Avenue NE, according to a building permit application with the City of Atlanta. The 1,950-square-foot space is located along the BeltLine Eastside Trail. It is expected to include indoor dining, a bar, and a party room.

Northern China Eatery’s original location is in Doraville on Buford Highway. Owner Fan Zhang told What Now Atlanta in March that they were looking into bringing the restaurant to the BeltLine. Zhang, who is also behind The Dumpling Factory, a new concept that opened recently at Westside Paper, has owned Northern China Eatery since 2012.

“We’re trying to have people try authentic Chinese dumplings, authentic Chinese food, in not only Atlanta, but everybody around the country,” he said.

The dumplings are a fan favorite at Northern China Eatery, but the menu also includes meat and seafood dishes, potstickers, noodles, rice, soup and more. Atlanta Magazine named Northern China Eatery as one of the 75 best restaurants in the city.

Operating hours for the restaurant would be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, according to construction plans.
