Covington is getting a Caribou Coffee.

The drive-thru coffee shop is planned for 4115 Highway 278 NE. The 587-square-foot shop will be located in a freestanding building that’s part of Jackson Market, a planned commercial development from D&G Development Group.

There are currently nine Caribou Coffee locations in Georgia, including three in Atlanta, plus two at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Locations are also planned for Augusta and Griffin. Some Caribou Coffees have indoor seating, but construction documents indicate that the one planned for Covington will be a drive-thru only.

Caribou Coffee was founded in Minnesota in 1992. There are now more than 750 locations nationwide. The menu includes hot and iced espresso beverages, tea, energy drinks, and food items like breakfast and lunch sandwiches, bagels and pastries.

In addition to the freestanding Caribou Coffee, Jackson Market will feature two multi-tenant buildings. Other restaurants expected to be part of the development include McAlister’s Deli, Five Guys, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Chicken Salad Chick and Touchdown Wings.
