A new frozen yogurt-style açaí bowl bar is coming to Georgia.

Mai Açaí is expected to open this spring at 6135 Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree Corners. The shop will feature self-serve bowls made with açaí sustainably sourced from Brazil. Customers will be able to customize their bowl with a variety of toppings, such as coconut flakes, granola, honey, fruit, cacao nibs and more.

The entirely organic, vegan and gluten-free menu will also include handcrafted smoothies, fresh-squeezed juices and wellness shots and matcha lattes made with ceremonial-grade matcha cultivated in Japan.

“When developing the menu, my focus was on high-quality ingredients, sustainability and customization,” founder LaChelle Foster told What Now Atlanta. “I wanted every item to be nutrient-rich yet delicious, so people can feel good about what they’re putting into their bodies.”

Foster graduated from Oglethorpe University in May 2024 with a B.S. in biopsychology and a minor in accounting. As as entrepreneur and model, Mai Açaí was inspired by her appreciation of sweet treats with a passion for nutrition and wellness.

“Mai Açaí was born from my desire to enjoy delicious, satisfying treats without compromising on quality or health,” she told What Now Atlanta. “I wanted to create a place where people can enjoy nutritious, organic and ethically sourced treats in a fun, interactive way.”

Foster hopes to eventually grow Mai Açaí to multiple locations in Georgia and beyond, with an eye on franchising in the future. For now, the vision is to create a comfortable and communal space offering healthy and tasty eats.

“I hope Mai Açaí becomes a go-to spot where people can enjoy clean, delicious and energizing food in a welcoming environment,” she said. “I want it to be a place where people can gather, relax, and enjoy a treat that aligns with their health goals. As a Black woman-owned business, I also want to inspire young entrepreneurs and contribute to the diversity of the local food scene.”
