New high-end southern restaurant Levelz Atlanta is set to open in September on Jimmy Carter Blvd. in place of a former RadioShack. Owned by Midnight Blu club promoter and first-time restaurateur Dream Hardnett, the 2,200 square-foot restaurant will also operate as a lounge, offering hookah and drinks.

“It’s a southern cuisine restaurant,” Hardnett said in an interview with What Now Atlanta. “So we want to be intertwining some soul food mixed with, as we call it, ‘the boujee people food.’”

Noticing a lack of lounge-type restaurants around the Gwinnett area, Hardnett started the concept for Levelz Atlanta a year ago. “I’m just trying to give my side of town that I’ve been born a taste of what it is to be in Atlanta without having to drive to Atlanta,” he said.

Hardnett says he wants his restaurant to be the inspiration for future restaurants in the area.

“How do you word that? It’s going to be number one,” he said. “It’s going to be an eye-opener, and it’s definitely going to change the game in how restaurants are being built right now.”
